Look for the following information in your Pilot’s Operating Handbook, Aircraft Operation Manual, and any other documents for your aircraft:
Aircraft Type (Piston Fixed Pitch, Variable Pitch, Turbocharged, Turboprop, Jet)
Units of Weight for aircraft (Pounds, Kilograms)
Units for fuel (Gallons, Pounds, Kilograms)
Units for balance (Moment-inches, CG, % MAC)
Weight & Balance information (Load Stations, including fuel, and flyable envelope)
Performance information (climb/cruise/descent, power or altitude tables)
Cost of operation (optional)
Entering performance data is the most difficult part of aircraft data entry. It sometimes requires some calculations mixed with personal knowledge of your aircraft. However, once this data is entered, FliteStar will represent your aircraft’s performance much more accurately.
Make sure to check that all written aircraft performance/fuel burn figures match your actual aircraft performance for best results.
FliteStar recognizes the following aircraft model types:
Fixed Pitch Piston
Variable Pitch Piston
Turbocharged Piston
Turboprop
Jet
The following models are not fully supported:
LTA (balloons & blimps)
Glider
Rotorcraft
