The Menu Bar displays at the top left position of the FliteStar main window directly below the program window title.
This list summarizes the options in each menu:
File — Manage files, such as loading (opening), saving, importing/exporting to FMS or text, and printing.
Edit — Create and edit pilot profiles, aircraft models, user-defined waypoints, and when JeppView is installed, terminal charts in RoutePacks.
View — Hide, show, and reset the Enroute Charts profile, split, and thumbnail windows, the RoutePack and Airport List windows; Time Slider, DUAT/S, and TFR Controller windows; hide, show, and customize toolbars.
Chart — Change Enroute Charts zoom level, themes, default and favorite views; view raster charts; center on the cursor position or a route.
Preflight — A menu list of steps to plan a flight from TFR download through printing trip reports.
Tools — Add a new route to a RoutePack; append waypoints, reverse, and renumber wwaypoints in a route; add user-defined waypoints and wind stations in the Enroute Charts; calculate unit conversions, sunrise and sunset times, and set program preference options.
Connections — Set up GPS and Internet Proxy connections.
Weather — Select a default weather provider, set up and connect to DUAT/S accounts, set time limits for how long to keep weather files, view past briefings, manage the Jeppesen live weather connection.
Help — View the user manual and tutorials, license and activation information, RoutePack log (if populated); send feedback about FliteStar or contact Technical Support via email.
Most of the commands in the Menu Bar open dialog boxes where you enter
more detailed information when planning. To close a dialog box, press
the ESC key on your keyboard, click Cancel,
or click on the in the upper
right corner of the dialog box. Other commands that do not display dialog
boxes initiate functions or change the look of the chart.
