FliteStar’s Notebook is a convenient way for you to keep your notes in a text format while FliteStar is running. The text files can be opened by a text program, word processor, or within FliteStar. Notebooks can be used in several ways: as a means of taking notes on a particular trip or event, to keep fuel logs electronically, or to keep a maintenance log. Notebooks are stored in the folder called Notebook in the FliteStar directory.
Click on the Notebook tab in the Enroute Charts View or click Tools > Notebook.
The buttons for working with the Notebook are located in the lower left corner of the display.
Beneath the buttons the name and file path of the active notebook is displayed.
To add a note:
Click Add Note to open the Add Note dialog box.
Enter your text.
Click OK.
Each entry is automatically posted to the Notebook file and stamped with the date and time you made the entry.
You can edit any notebook entry, delete and add text, etc. on the screen, just as you would in a word processing program.
When you first open FliteStar the default notebook file is named Default Notebook.txt. To create a new notebook:
Click the New button to open the Save As dialog box.
Type the name of your new notebook in the File Name field.
Perform one of the following save options:
Click Save to save the file to the Notebook folder in the FliteStar directory.
Click Save as to save the current file you are working in under a new name or in a different directory on your computer.
The notebook file now displayed is your new notebook.
Next time you open the program the Notebook tab will display the last notebook file you had open when you closed the program.
To open a notebook file:
Click Open to display the Open dialog box.
Select the notebook file you want by double-clicking on it in the list, or by clicking it and then clicking Open.
Any changes you enter in the Notebook are automatically saved when you exit FliteStar.
To delete a notebook file:
Click Open to display the Open dialog box.
Right-click the file you want to delete.
Click Delete from the shortcut menu.
