This section describes backup and recovery procedures for FliteStar. To avoid complications, please note that the backup and recovery procedures may only work if the FliteStar version to be uninstalled is the same version as the one to be re-installed.
The following table contains a list of several files that you may want to save to another folder before uninstalling and reinstalling FliteStar. This table assumes that FliteStar is installed in the default location on the C: drive.

This icon marks a
hidden folder.
To back up the files listed above:
Navigate to the specified folder.
Right-click the file name and choose Copy.
Navigate to the folder where the file will be temporarily stored, preferably not in the Jeppesen folder.
Right-click a blank spot in the designated folder and choose Paste.
Repeats step 1 through 4 for each file to be backed up.
After installing and activating FliteStar, do the following:
Navigate to the folder where the backed-up files are stored.
Right-click the file name and select Copy.
Navigate to the appropriate folder.
Right-click a blank spot in the folder and choose Paste.
Click Yes in the Confirm File Replacement dialog box.
Repeat steps 1 through 5 for each file to be recovered.
To enable the viewing of hidden and protected system files in Windows Vista and Windows 7:
Close all programs.
Click Start > Control Panel.
When the control panel opens you can either be in Classic View or Control Panel Home view:
Do the following if you are in the Classic View:
Double-click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Go to step 4.
Do the following if you are in the Control Panel Home view:
Click the Appearance and Personalization link.
Click Show Hidden Files or Folders.
Go to step 4.
Under the Hidden files and folders section, select Show hidden files and folders.
Clear the Hide extensions for known file types check box.
Click Apply, and then OK.
Windows is now configured to show all hidden files.
