Download Only

Use Download Only to support the following use cases:

 

• Download the data service while you have an internet connection and transfer to your avionics storage media (SD card, USB drive etc.) later, including when offline.
• Download terminal charts so the size of the dataset can be reduced through the subsetting feature prior to being transferred.

 

Download Only allows you to transfer to a device (SD card, USB drive, etc.) at a later time, including when you are offline. This is especially useful if you do not have your device with you at the time. JDM will download and store the data on your computer for transfer later.

 

Download Only also enables you to reduce the size of your terminal chart dataset by using subsetting. Once the terminal charts have been downloaded to your computer, you can subset your coverage(s) by identifying what airports to include and not include in the dataset to be transferred to media. See Subset Terminal Charts for more information.

 

The Download Only option can be used in several ways:

 

• Dragging and dropping one or many services to the Download Only option in the Update Options Area
• Clicking the Download Only button in the service line
• Right-clicking on a service then selecting Download Only from the popup menu
• Double-clicking on a service then selecting Download Only from the popup menu

 

To download multiple data services at once for a single aircraft, hold down the Shift key or Ctrl key while clicking on each desired service for a single aircraft in the Services Area. Then drag and drop the selected services from the Services Area to the Download Only option in the Update Options Area. You cannot select multiple services across multiple aircraft.

 

Once a service has been downloaded, the Download Only button in the service line will gray out and the service status line will say "Downloaded. Ready to transfer (offline)".
