Aircraft Data

Before you can create an accurate flight plan, you need accurate aircraft data. FliteStar comes with a number of preloaded aircraft models, but you must check and edit the model you intend to use so that it accurately reflects your aircraft. If you don’t see your type of aircraft in FliteStar, check Jeppesen’s Aircraft Model Exchange.

If you do not find your type of aircraft, you will probably have to create your aircraft model from scratch. It is usually easier to choose a model similar to yours and then modify it. Jeppesen recommends this approach even if you have to change every value. For example, if editing a Cessna 182 to make it a Turbo 182RG, change all the performance values, as well as all weight and balance values. Using the similar aircraft type gives you a good template for entering your data.
