Because you may need to use FliteStar or NavSuite on a notebook computer in addition to your desktop computer, your license agreement permits this, as long as you are the only person using the program(s). If more than one person needs to use the software, or if you otherwise need additional site keys, you can purchase them by calling Jeppesen Customer Service.
If you need to move FliteStar or NavSuite from one computer to another, you must first deactivate the program(s) on the computer from which you are removing it. Deactivating opens the site key for use on the new computer.
Once you have activated FliteStar or the NavSuite Products on the maximum number of computers, you can deactivate one of them and move it to a new computer by following one of the methods below:
Uninstalling the program, and choosing Yes when the deactivation wizard asks if you would like to deactivate FliteStar or NavSuite. See Removing FliteStar.
Locating and running the deactivate.exe program in the folder containing your FliteStar files. If you installed FliteStar within the default folders, it can be found in one of the following locations:
C:\Jeppesen\FliteStar (Windows XP)
C:\Program Files\Jeppesen\FliteStar (Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7)
NOTE | If you are using FliteStar within the NavSuite, deactivating FliteStar also deactivates the other NavSuite products on the computer. |
If the deactivation wizard presents a list of programs to deactivate, select FliteStar or NavSuite and follow the on-screen instructions:
Read the warning to ensure you really want to deactivate FliteStar or NavSuite. Select the check box and click Next.
Select how you want to deactivate FliteStar or NavSuite (we recommend selecting the Automated method if you have an Internet connection) and click Next. If you select Automated, FliteStar deactivates and a dialog box containing the deactivation information appears.
After your deactivation information has been displayed, you can install FliteStar or NavSuite on the new hardware and follow the Activation Wizard.
Although the deactivated program or programs no longer run, they are still present on the old computer. To reactivate the programs on a computer where they are still installed, open the program to start the Activation Wizard. Otherwise you can uninstall them using Windows Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
Be sure to keep a copy of your serial number and site key for each computer in case your hard drive or computer fails and you have to replace it.
NOTE | If you try to reactivate FliteStar or NavSuite on this machine after activating them on another computer, or activate the products on a fifth machine without deactivating one site key, you will receive a message from the server that your site key limit has been exceeded. To purchase and activate more than two installations of FliteStar or four of NavSuite, please contact Jeppesen Customer Service. |
If FliteStar is inaccessible, such as after a hard disk crash, contact a Technical Support Representative by phone or email for assistance.
