Home > Flight Planning > Flight Physics > Weight & Balance
To calculate Weight and Balance for a route, first select a route or route leg in the RoutePack List or Enroute Charts View.
There are two ways to open the Weight and Balance dialog:
Click Preflight > Weight and Balance for [route].
Click the Weight & Balance icon in the Quick Bar toolbar.
The Weight & Balance dialog box displays the Center of Gravity Stations and the Center of Gravity Limits Envelope as they were set up in the aircraft model you selected for your flight. Click or press TAB to move between the fields under the Weight heading and type in new values for each station as needed.
NOTE | Fuel is always entered in pounds or kilograms here. |
The loading graph on the right changes to match the data as you it enter for the CG Stations, so you have an instant visual of how different weight distributions will affect flight characteristics.
The text on the bottom right of the dialog box indicates whether the loading is "Within Envelope" or "Outside Envelope".
Also displayed below the tables is the aircraft you have selected for this route, the total weight of the aircraft in pounds, center of gravity location in inches from the datum, mean aerodynamic chord, and the minimum fuel to meet reserves.
