Cost Type Description

Annual

Annual costs are expenses incurred on an annual basis, such as inspections. Fill in the average yearly cost of these items.

Hourly

Hourly costs are expenses that can be computed on an hourly basis, such as engine overhauls. Enter the average
cost per hour.

Fuel

FliteStar uses this value to compute the actual cost of the trip based on the fuel use determined in the flight plan. Enter the cost per unit of fuel. For example, if you pay $4.00 a gallon for fuel, and your fuel units are in gallons (see Basic Aircraft Data, earlier in this chapter), then enter 4.00. If your fuel units are in pounds, and your fuel weighs 6 lbs./gallon, the cost would be .30 per pound.

Distance

Use this type for cost items that can be computed as a fixed cost per air mile. Enter the cost per nautical mile. This is often used in charter quoting.

Other

These are items that can be entered on a cost per flight basis, such as headset rental, charts, oxygen bottles, etc.

When you have entered all the operating costs, save your edited fields or click Cancel to revert to the original data. If you are creating an aircraft model from scratch, click Next to continue to Weight & Balance Data.
