The Append waypoints function adds new waypoints to the end of a route. You can append waypoints from the enroute chart or the Search dialog box.
To place a waypoint to the end of your route starting in the enroute chart:
Select the route or a route leg in the RoutePack List or Enroute Charts View. If you do not select a route, the program will append the waypoint to the last route in the RoutePack List.
Do one of the following:
Click Tools > Append Waypoints to [RoutePack Name : Route Name].
Right-click the route and choose Append Waypoints to [RoutePack Name : Route Name] from the shortcut menu. The pointer appears in the Enroute Charts view with the rubber band (black broken line) stretching from the last waypoint of the route.
Click on the waypoint or at the desired waypoint location on the enroute chart. If the new location is not a waypoint in the database, FliteStar creates a new lat/lon waypoint at that location. New waypoints are labeled as WP1, WP2, etc.
When you finish, do one of the following:
Click Tools > Stop Appending Waypoints.
Right-click the route in the RoutePack List or right-click the enroute chart and choose Stop Appending Waypoints.
Press ESC.
Use the following technique to append a waypoint using the Search feature:
In the RoutePack List, select the RoutePack or route to be appended.
Selecting a RoutePack appends the waypoint to the first route in the RoutePack.
Selecting a route appends it to that route.
Click Chart > Search.
Use the procedure described in Searching for a Navaid to find the waypoint.
In the Search dialog box, click Append.
