Check that the Weather toolbar buttons are enabled for the weather types you expect to see.
Check the available times for the weather types in the Time Slider. Move the slider to a time when the weather type you want to see is available.
Check that your Internet connection is still active: Open a browser and navigate to a common website.
Check that your computer system has enough free memory to manage all the incoming weather downloads:
Right-click the computer clock, or hold down the CTRL+ALT+DELETE keys, and select Task Manager.
Select the Performance tab.
In the Commit Charge section, the Limit value should be at least twice the Peak value. In the Physical Memory section, the Available value should be at least six places (100000).
If either the Peak or Available values are below the threshold, ask your computer specialist about ways to improve performance.
Some factors that affect weather download and display time are:
· Internet connection speed.
· Using the Time Slider or Weather toolbar buttons. Both these settings determine the download priority order of weather types. Moving the slider or clicking different toolbar buttons off and on during a download will reset FliteStar's search priorities and slow the download process.
· Geographic size of the FliteStar NavData region. Only weather for the installed NavData region is downloaded, so smaller regions require less data.
· Free memory on the local system. Low hardware capacity or other software that uses most of the memory can reduce download and drawing speeds.
When FliteDeck is installed on the same machine as FliteStar, both programs must be updated to the following versions to continue working together:
FliteStar version 9.5
FliteDeck version 3.4.6
Contact Jeppesen Customer Service or go to JeppDirect.com to purchase an update for either program.
