Connecting Interactively

Connecting interactively allows you to access DUAT/S without the FliteStar automated response system (weather briefing scripts). You can also access the DUAT/S menu to modify your personal pilot profile, password information, and aircraft data that you initially entered for your DTC or CSC account. If you have not set up a DUAT/S account, see Setting Up Accounts.

Interactive Login

To log in to DUAT/S interactively:

·    If CSC or DTC is your default provider, click the Weather menu in the main toolbar

·    Go to the Weather tab and display the DUATS Controller or click View > DUATS Controller

  1. In the Weather Provider window, select your DUAT/S provider: CSC or DTC.

  2. Click Weather > Dial Weather (Interactive).

  3. FliteStar connects to DUAT/S and automatically enters your access number and password.

  4. Click anywhere inside the Terminal Window to move control of the keyboard.

  5. When prompted to get to the DUATS main menu, press the ENTER key.

  6. Navigate through the DUATS menus using the keyboard arrow keys; the DUATS menus do not support the mouse.

Logging Off

To log off:

  1. Go to the Weather menu

  2. Click Disconnect.

This logs you off of DUATS and returns FliteStar control to you.

If you change your password during an interactive DUATS session, you must manually enter the new password in FliteStar as described in Using a Dial-up Connection or Using a Broadband Connection.
