A RoutePack is like an electronic briefcase that contains flight information for one or more routes with their associated airport and terminal charts, as well as a collection of commonly used airports, charts, and routes. RoutePacks can be saved, unloaded, and loaded back into FliteStar for future use.
A route is a collection of waypoints. At a minimum, a route contains a departure and destination airport, but it may also include enroute waypoints and alternate routes. Routes are created and stored in a RoutePack. Each airport in a route may contain all or a selection of terminal charts for that airport.
The following describes the various techniques to create a RoutePack and a route:
RoutePack Structure provides an overview of how a RoutePack displays airports, terminal charts, alternates, and other airports not associated with the route.
RoutePack Wizard guides you through creating a RoutePack and a route.
Creating a RoutePack helps with creating an empty RoutePack where you can create a route later using the RoutePack Wizard or the point-and-click method.
Route Types provides an overview of the different kinds of routing provided in the RoutePack Wizard.
Manual Routing describes how to utilize the Enroute Charts View to create a route by pointing and clicking on the enroute chart.
Alternate Planning describes how to add an alternate route after your route has already been generated. Alternate routes can also be added when creating a route using the Route or RoutePack Wizard.
